This song makes sense too.  Sometimes when somebody takes your place, they are doing you a big favor. It's a blessing.  When you are getting rid of something no good for you, bad for you, it's to your favor that another takes hold of it and it is removed from your life.  Good riddens in other words.  I'm better off without you, let another have you.  Better for me.  I love the rhythm in this song.
